Amid Virtual News Blackout, Lebanese Protests Default to Social Media

Since October, hundreds of thousands of Lebanese citizens have taken to the streets of Beirut to protest what they say is a corrupt political system that has failed to provide even the most basic of services. But in a media marketplace crowded with overtly partisan publications, protestors are using social media to get the word out. VOA’s Betty Ayoub reports.
